Relief Goods on the Way to Busuanga

A Million Voices visited Coron and Busuanga this past weekend to assess the current situation, and has now been fortunate enough to be allotted space on the Norwegian Training Center (NTC) vessel that is headed to Coron with relief goods on Wednesday.

With us we are bringing the following for distribution specifically in Busuanga:

* 1.500 school bags with supplies
* 2.000 liters of bottled water
* 1.500 packs of noodles
* 500 packs of powdered milk
* 500 packs of coffee
* 2.500 kg of rice

In addition to this our collaborating NGO, ASHDA, is bringing a team of health professionals and medicines for a medical mission this weekend.

We cannot thank enough all those who contributed to this: the individual donors, the crew on KL Brofjord, the crew on Lady Guro, OSM Maritime Services Inc., and Via Travel/Gtravel. The latter has been a significant collaborating partner in this effort as well, ensuring large quantities of relief goods on a short notice.

This is not the last of our Yolanda efforts – thanks to all who have donated for this cause. A Million Voices may be a small organization in a greater context, but as we say: “all it takes is one voice to disrupt silence”. By joining hands with various partners and donors, we also see how we can do even greater things together!
